Founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1993 by Jack Jones Jr. Before anyone else had a framework for electronic recycling, Recycling E-Scrap was already doing it. Properly.
The Foundation
Before the Industry Existed.
In 1993, as computers entered every home and office in America, a problem was quietly growing. Nobody had a responsible way to dispose of them. CRT monitors and old PCs were going straight to landfills, leaching lead, mercury, and cadmium into groundwater. Jack Jones Jr. saw it happening and built the alternative. His Jacksonville operation became the first EPA-approved electronic recycling facility in the United States. For seven years, it was the only one. Semi-loads arrived from halfway across the country. The industry eventually caught up. Recycling E-Scrap stayed ahead. We’ve since diverted millions of pounds of e-scrap from landfills, served over 2,300 corporate and government clients, and built a reputation that still brings clients to Jacksonville from across Florida, South Georgia, and beyond.

Sister Business
Recycling Feeds Computer Depot.
The two businesses were built to work together. Electronics recycled at our Beaver Street facility are evaluated for reuse. Computers and laptops that can be refurbished go to Computer Depot Jack’s on Bowden Road, where they’re tested, cleaned, and sold to Jacksonville residents at affordable prices. Residential customers who bring their old electronics to Computer Depot Jack’s earn JackCash: $10 loyalty coupons redeemable on any in-store purchase. The recycling loop is complete. Nothing is wasted.
